A cut from one of the open ends: magnification, 100x
Etchant: Klemms III
(Sn, <0.010%; As, 0.36%; Ni, <0.011%)
The microstructure consists of polyhedral grains that, in their twinning and slight distortion, are indicative of an annealing treatment after moderate cold-working. Inclusions are small and scattered very lightly throughout the metal without any particular orientation.
Microhardness VHN: 103 ± 7 (n=4)
Very uniform, consistent with this artifacts non-utilitarian function.
